Towson University, Cook Library
Cook Library has two classrooms, 317 & 526, for library instruction. Both rooms are equipped with an instructor workstation with dual monitors, overhead projector and screen, dry erase board, and individual student workstations. The layout of each room is significantly different.
Room 317 (the first two photos) has an instructor workstation in the "back" of the room - opposite the overhead projector. Student workstations are perpendicular to the instructor workstation and projector screen. The layout allows the instructor to monitor student workstations, but students often struggle with where to look (instructor or projector screen?).
Room 526 (3rd photo) is a more aesthetically-pleasing classroom. Instructor workstation and projector screen, along with dry erase boards, are located at the front of the classroom. Student computers face forward and rows of computers are split by an aisle running down the middle of the room, facilitating instructor movement from front to back.

David, This looks good. How do you like teaching from the back of the room?
